ZollyMonsta: Nice use and editing of a trademarked logo there. Did you have permission? You don't need permission to use a trademarked logo. It's a consumer protection device, so if 'an idiot in a hurry' is unlikely to confuse you with the trademark holder you are fine.
michaelmurfy: It's simple, if you want VDSL then pay the extra and move to an ISP that offers it. If you're really wanting Vodafone to launch a VDSL product then wait.
Trolling members of this forum including moderators as well as the guys behind the Vodafone Facebook page is not a way to get VDSL, it's just childish to be frank.

mobiusnz:
I have quite literally been told by a Vodafone customer manager that they had no plan to supply VDSL (Except where they had some Telstraclear VDSL in small pockets in CHCH) and instead where going to be putting their whole focus on Fibre
If Vodafone do intend to launch VDSL then what I'd like is an indication that its a definite plan and a timeframe so I can decide if I can wait and also I can advise clients to wait - Even a good old Apple or Microsoft (Spring Summer 2013) kind of non-committal would be better than at the moment where its %100 hearsay and rumour and not a lot of that.
[...]
So I don't really understand the vitriol when in essence all I'm really after is a confirmation as to whether its worth waiting or if in reality I'm waiting for Enable to continue the fibre down my street if I want faster service from Vodafone and Enable have indicated thats not even in their mid term plan (3 years).
As I have said - Its not as simple as pay more - I have no problem with the $13 more (Maximum) it will cost me - I have a problem with the fact I can't use the Suresignal I paid for to supplement their poor coverage at my house on another broadband network. So the more becomes $95 more because I have to keep ADSL to support my SureSignal so I'm between a rock and a hard place.
So to sum up as (understandably) most people don't read the whole thing
[...]
3) - I lose my Suresignal if I switch ISP which is a right pain in the arse. I live in an established suburban area but fall in the hole between a huge number of cell towers (When I had a nokia that reported the Cell Broadcast I could hop between at least 5 cell towers walking around a small back yard and get none of them strongly). Chances are it needs an antenna moving 1 degree on a tower near me to fix it and possibly not lower signal elsewhere, but again getting anything out of them on this is hard. Not as much as a $50 discount on a suresignal even though I've suffered quietly since 1999 in cell signal hell.
4) - They keep pushing the cable network in Christchurch as the great hope even though it hasn't had any extended roll out for many many many years and many of the area's they are in are due to geographic convenience as the rolled it out from the beach and are in low socioeconomic areas that would be happy with ADSL because they just want a consumer (download) connection.
1) - I LIKE vodafone, I prefer them for landline services, I prefer them as a national ISP and I prefer them for Mobile and I believe in loyalty where you haven't been slighted - I don't jump ship to save $5 - I jump ship if I feel I am being actively robbed by a supplier - Generally a small saving leads to inferior support. I'm fully aware with number portability etc I can switch easily.

Stupid answers of Go elsewhere don't really help due to other complications

Again I've rambled so much with my summation that noone will read it and I'll get another "Vote with your feet" answer :( - I could close the topic but I don't care how many people don't get it and abuse me or accuse me of stupidity so long as it keeps the conversation going and at some point someone in the know might pass on a whisper of hope that actually has some credence.
LennonNZ: Reading the Vodafone forums it looks like you have been answered already by John
"Until some official coms comes out we can't speak about future plans or services,
John"

mobiusnz: I've started a Facebook page as it would seem that Geekzone forums and Vodafone's own forums do nothing to bring the fact the large numbers of users are considering (or already have) switching to other ISP's. I was about to switch to Snap myself tonight and lose the $13 Sky discount I get with Vodafone (And my suresignal!) when I decided to have one last crack. I wanted to ring someone to discuss even running it as a non-advertised service where clients supply their own modem but figured I'd never get to anyone with initiative and thought of Facebook - If they can bring very average lollies and biscuits back maybe it can do something useful!
So PLEASE if you are on Facebook go to
https://www.facebook.com/VODANZVDSL
and like & share the page to help get it some momentum!!!
I don't know if I would ever actually get VDSL living in Martinborough even if VF offered it.
Technically I have absolutely no idea what it even is apart from faster. (DSLAM sounds like an acronym for a guided missile to me!) However I would like much faster upload than ADSL gives as a photographer: I want to be able to use offsite backups in a meaningful way and 0.95 is not near fast enough to make it a pleasant experience.
So without getting into the why it is hard/impossible/expensive etc etc, speaking purely as a user of the internet then yes please, I would like it.
