yeah my pc has been tried on my pals cable modem at his place and it connects fine and porting is fine

Oh, good. When you tried the PC at your friend's place, what configuration changes did you have to make on the PC?

Finally, for the moment. what model of cable modem do you have?

I wouldn't mind those either.

well well well .. my how the tides have turned .. my porting magically opened up again today .. utorrent etc is fine .. i reconnected my cable modem directly to my pc and it wasnt working so i rang TCL and moaned again .. they did "nothing" but it magically worked again ... so i found some firmware im playing with for my Belkin G+ MIMO which lets me ghost all my settings form my pc to it (ie not just the mac address) .. my network seems to be fine again .. and no changes made on my behalf very very very interesting will let u guys know how it all gets on and post a link once i deem it safe to use :)
