TimA: Whatsapp is owned by facebook. I think we will all get spied on if using that. Maybe a thing called email or if your that way inclined ichat thing for iphone.

For what it's worth we have been using WhatsApp for the past two years long before Facebook bought it.. 

Group chat on email is out of the ark .  The only other one I would consider id BBM  but that's not easy for the technically challenged  like most of the rest of the family..

using an iPhone and SS = not worried about being spied on. Intelligence agencies have been using that goto Apple vulnerability for a long time now.

PXTing still exists - I wouldn't call it 'alive and well' but unlike Ned Stark and most of his family, it hasn't been killed off yet. More info here: http://www.vodafone.co.nz/mobile-services/pxt-world/

Most important thing to know is that PXTs won't use your data allowance, nor will it come out of your text bundle. You'll be charged a fee for each PXT you send; more info in the link. Hope that helps!
