Im busy looking at Vodafone plans- one of the main reasons for looking is because I was thinking about moving off iPhone.

For me to do that though, I'd need to be able to PXT quite a bit (sometimes over 20 times a day), but it seems that there isn't really a plan that encompasses PXT anymore. I know when iPhone 3G was released, there were some pretty decent plans then which included data, pxts and texts (and maybe calling time?), for a relatively decent price, but I can't find any now?

Am I going blind? or is PXT'ing no longer something that is promoted?

Pretty much everyone I know uses Viber to send pics these days, but of course you need all your contacts to be using it.

Yeah, but thats it- some of the people I PXT regularly, including my mum, aren't on Viber, plus I think Viber's interface is rather horrid.

Was hoping to just utilise PXT since it's already there, built in!

If I attach a picture to my txt, it becomes mms which is sent over data. I think now that having 3g and real data on your phone is a thing, there is no need to give you separate pxt. My understanding is that MMS and PXT are the same thing and it is no longer something amazing to be promoted, it is ubiquitous and takes a tiny percentage of your data allowance.

No, PXT's are charged separately and are not part of your data allowance (as I understand it - John please correct me if I'm wrong).

Some older plans have MMS / PXT part of the plan not the more recent

"PXT" was always the brand name Vodafone used instead of MMS. They're the same thing. It always used data but over its own APN. Moving from 2G to 3G and forwards did not change this.

Never needed it.

Just email photos.

Heck, I have 2500 texts a month in my VF plan and usually end the month with 2500 still!

Our whole family uses WhatsApp to do MMS. I think that MMS is way too expensive and should be a part of your normal text plan but someone from Vodafone will dispute that with the argument that they have to maintain expensive back end gear for MMS.

Whatsapp is owned by facebook. I think we will all get spied on if using that. Maybe a thing called email or if your that way inclined ichat thing for iphone.
