Canuckabroad:
line stats? unless you had a good line (which 9-11mbit before VDSL infers not.) 30Mbit might be the best you will manage.

I can't recall what the new modem with VDSL splitter reports, but the old ADSL modem indicated 0.1dB of attenuation, I think the new modem is reporting 0.0dB now.  I can check tonight and confirm.

0db will be incorrect, firmware bug.

might wanna get TimA to pluck your real attenuation figure out.

As of last night, problem still not fixed.  Still waiting on having VDSL service enabled.  From the perspective of me the customer, it doesn't matter if the reason for my lack of service is because of my ISP or a 3rd party engaged by my ISP - I am still impacted.

I tried contacting the Chorus installer last night who performed the install, but haven't heard anything back.

(I realize I kind of usurped the original query here.  Apologies to the OP).

JFYI my new Huawei VF supplied VDSL modem shows 0db attenuation also.

Ah. Ah well - since I have no idea what attenuation even is, I shan't be concerned...!! ;-)

pretty sure your attenuation has been quoted here a few times by TimA so we have a good idea :)

As an update on my case - my wireless NIC software (Killer Wireless 1103) did a speedtest when it installed to set the thresholds it would try maximize - and it actually limits your connection to those standards until you manually re-run the speed test.  Vodafone did tweak my modem settings and it's connecting faster than before, but my own software was preventing me from connecting faster than the ADSL I had when the software was installed.

I appreciate John (and the team) assisting and troubleshooting over the last several days.  Last night was high-speed bliss.
