johnr: OK then cars are used to get from A to Z would you expect to the pay same for a 1980 Lada compared to a 2010 Maserati?

At the end of the day they are still just a car with 4 wheels

John

To be fair if dsl was a lada and cable was a 2010 maserati carrying a LARGE bag of 0's and 1's do they still get get from a to z. as both are speed limited to 50km does it really mater how you transport it?

Going on that bases you may as well want to get unlimited Dialup. That can still carry 0's and 1's...

I don't know why you guys are all trying to bring logic and fact in to this.

phantomdb: I also appreciated you previous post about not matching competitors, and as im not able to take advantage of extra discounts due to lack of extra services as you not its less compelling, i was hoping to take advantage of online services and fix my bill each month just not for $85 a month to be honest and also cant justify spending another $20 a month on mobile services to save $10 on broadband.

its always a case of if you don't ask you will never know.

Fair enough, but does that mean you don't already have a monthly mobile spend? I'm not suggesting you spend more, just that you shift it. Unless you're on a prepay account. But even so, depending on how much you spend on prepay every month, if you had to convert it to on-account $39 for a pretty sweet open term mobile plan with a bunch of benefits, you'd be getting a decent deal along with the $10 broadband discount. smile

i find it hard to use my monthly spend on mobile of $19 as it is, hence the extra $20 spend to bring it up to a $39 plan.

pity i cant get 15/2 cable on unlimited as a plan to be honest,

that requires a phone line and currently its over voip, so thats a chicken or egg thing..... secondly the bike wont carry a LARGE bag of 0's and 1's.

If family/friend have an on account mobile not being used you can verify it with that and obtain the discount.

Ok. To reiterate the entire thread.

You are not happy you are paying $10 more for cable on unlimited and you can get unlimited ADSL for $75.
Weird discussion.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Because the Lada will always be more reliable and cheaper to maintain than the Maserati

Not quite, i didn't say i was not happy just inquiring to see if the spirit of competition was enough to match a competitors offer.

if they did it for you they would have to do it for everyone else, and may as well lower their advertised price.

you car completely missing the common sense logic and fact behind what you are trying to ask

Different question for geekzone...
No Vodafone person could out right say publicly "since there is a better deal we will beat/match it" as that's a personal conversation between company and customer.
Fortunately we are not bunnings. It would be best consulting a retention team member if you are wanting to churn. I did suggest a family/friend can get a discount best to ask around.
