Would there be any solution?

Is there any tests I could do while connected to 4G to diagnose?

Yep the buy a new phone directly from VF that they've tested to work on their network test

I have been in Auckland a lot recently and I have found that 4G works fine South of the bridge. I also found that I have to go into aeroplane mode every time it switches between 4G and 3G/H. Is there any way I could fix this other than buying a new phone?

If you are already on the latest version of the firmware then I don't know what else would fix it. I've not noticed any issues changing between the two. If you have another 4g device available you could try replicating the issue. I only experienced the problem in East Tamaki when it used to happen to me.
