lxsw20: I see people often report this but I'm yet to have a failure with a genuine apple cable. You guys are inserting/removing by the plastic end bit right, not just yanking on the cable?
joker97: but just by using it while being charged will kink the cable and cause an internal fracture of wiring (the super short cable will accentuate this phenomenon)
leo0787sx: Unless someone from Vodafone confirms I'll give the CGA a call and see what they say, I don't fancy spending another $30 on a lightening cable.

So you are going to call an "act" are you?
Have you even called Vodafone or are you in the belief that your query should be taken from this site only?
Are you sure the cable in question is the one from Vodafone or is it the yoobee one?
Have you taken all due care to not cause the damage yourself?
I personally have never had a faulty genuine lightning cable, nor have I ever had a non-genuine one work properly.
21brandon21: Legally they have to give you a new cable as it's not fit for use. Tell them to replace it as you will be covered under the CGA.
katietommo: My iPhone 5 cable 'stopped working', but then after buying a new cable I found out that that didn't work either and the actual problem was a lot of fluff and dust in the port. I got that out using tweezers and now both cables work fine.
