sbiddle: Do you have a monitored alarm or an alarm that was monitored at some point? It's always possible the master filter wasn't installed correctly.

No monitored alarm. I swear this problem didn't exist when I first got VDSL.

jnimmo: Also, I don't know anything about these modems, but some modems have settings where the connection times out after X amount of idle time. Is it possible this may be configured?


Disconnect/reconnects (with a shiny new IP address) happen mid-movie or mid-game. No chance of idle time out.

FYI things improved quite a bit after a factory reset of the router, and I bought a Draytek in the perhaps vain hope that it will help too.

Also discovered that unblock-us have an "api" which will lessen the impact of the ip address changes. ( https://api.unblock-us.com/login?email:password)
