My Mum tried the wireless Vodafone product in Wanganui a few years ago. It was so awful she got rid of it less than a week later. Maybe it's improved, but if you're going to go for that do a bit of research first.
I'd just switch to Telecom (for simplicity for your Mum) and go cooper only.

Was she impacted by an echo issue? The units now are 3G and much better now

It was something like that, yeah, really bad voice quality. Good to hear they've improved.
The wireless connection at my Mother in Laws place is terrible.
You may recall a conversation we had sometime ago re taking several hours for a text to get through in Raumati South.
By the way which you never fully answered, after we sorted out the wrong number situation.

is it terrible for all providers, or just for vodafone?
You could try skinny or spark if they might have better coverage there.
they don't have 'home phone wireless' products, but all that is is just a mobile phone that looks like a landline. Im sure if she prefers a 'landline' feel you can buy those kinds of devices separate and just put a skinny/spark sim in it.
