There is a pre-dawn dip in the MUF (and who doesn't enjoy one of those?) Maximum Usable Frequency - this relates to HF signals bouncing off the ionosphere, but I wonder if something similar could apply to cellular freqs? I know they don't bounce off anything (using RF Line Of Sight) but the key factor is dawn - it could be having other effects on the 4G coverage (heat, dust, unicorns, Feng Shui). Just a thought...

Do the 4G cells "breathe" like 3G ones do?

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

Got a text from VF today saying I "may soon" experience faster data and clearer calls as they are upgrading the network in my area and that there may be some disruption meanwhile.

Signal meter on the phone was up and down a bit (it's usually 4 or 5 on 3G) then hit 4G again but only 2 for a few minutes, then back to 3G where it remains!
