So how do we (as users) find out what the fastest service available to us at our address is?
Sideface: You were screwed.
Pay the $300 and leave ASAP.

That's a lot of money. WxC promise to give you the best speed available, and I wouldn't quibble if that was 100/20, but 30/10 is worse than some people's VDSL. Write them an email, or even a letter (on paper!), outlining the problem and requesting they resolve it. Inform them that if they can't resolve this problem, you will cancel your account and as they have broken their "best speed promise" you will not expect to be charged an early termination fee, and will take them to the TDR/disputes tribunal/etc if they do.
People sit up and take notice when something arrives in the mail.

redeye40: Hi all,
Just had Enable install fibre into my house in Chch(after signing on for 24 months)fast efficient service,no problems there, the problem is WXC's blurb says, "fastest speeds available".
I now (I know, I know hindsight is 20/20) read... buried further on their site, I'm limited to 30 down 10 up, surely this is false advertising, 30/10 is NOT the fastest speed available(and is certainly NOT UFB), the opposition is offering 100/20 and even 200/20 for roughly the same price, now I'm stuck with vdsl speeds for 2 years.
Any ideas or do I just pay the early out $300 and ditch it for the opposition.
any advice appreciated
regards
