TimA: Many years of experience here saying never rely on Chorus to process a Churn order.
Too many times i have seen them missed. Vodafone are usually quite good at processing them and i only ever had a handful of times it wasnt the case but more factors came into play there.
Always call your "Losing service provider" and let them know your changing.
Can cover your butt when you get a phone call because your 3 months overdue.
Many years ago I got burned by this. Switched from Xnet to Telecom. Telecom advised me that I didn't need to do anything with Xnet as they would be advised that I'd churned and close the account. Switch over went fine. 3 Months later I get an overdue notice from Xnet, seems I hadn't been paying them for a now disconnected service... queue long phone calls with accounts/supervisors/anyone that would listen and than a notice that they intended to send the debt the Baycorp. Despite not having to pay Chorus for my connection Xnet still insisted there was a cost to them not providing me a service.... I gave up and paid and put Xnet/WXC on the do-not-buy list in a huff.
TL;DR: Hit this exact situation, got screwed. Great advice from TimA, will always do so.
