Hopefully you will have noticed that this issue has now been resolved. There is currently an updgrade under way of the Vlive streaming servers. Both the the 6234 and 6288 were tested against the new config (along with a lot of other handsets) and were found to be working fine.
After the customer issues were reported, investigation revealed that some versions of the software on these devices were not 'talking' to the streaming server properly, hence the problems. This had nothing to do with whether a user was pre-pay or on-account.
After further investigation/diagnosis/testing, a fix was put into production last Thursday afternoon. All 6234s and 6288s should now be working fine.
Thanks for that info. on what the fault was. I got a text from Vodaphone saying that the problem had been resolved & so far the service has been O.K. Perhaps, better than before. I now never see a message about 'temporary net problem'. So, maybe if I had updated the phone software on the 6234 it would have fixed the issue? Who knows, I did not want to pay for an expensive data cable. Plus I have had many bad experiences trying to up-date firmware on various computers. Maybe updating software is not such a big deal tho.
