Bletch: I'm in Lower Hutt - connection went down around 10:30, and came back up a few minutes ago. The errors appear to have been ppp-related (unable to connect to PPPoA server, or PPP authentication failed). The DSL connection was rock solid the entire time.

Yeah it appears to be PPP related - my DSL connection was good and solid as well - I did try and reboot my router and everyting the DSL syncs up nicely - only PPP session won't come up. Got an error about no PAP auth response.

So it looks like there was something wrong with the PPP session.

And hopefully it's just an isolatred incident.

Mine was the PPP Auth failure as well, failed to get external ip addresses etc,
And DSL was connected the whole time.

I noticed this as well, is back up now though.
The VFX on my Fusion still isn't 100% though, I can't call family in Hamilton, but Auckland numbers work fine.

Anyone else getting calls from Xnet? I've had one from their 0800-149-638 number, and two from 09-950-1300, both directed to my VFX number. The first one played music to me, the second two were silent. Not a person in sight.

There was an issue with a core piece of equipment, DSL is back and and running, Auckland VFX services are all running, POI's are coming back online , there is an issue with Standing the links back up in some regions with Telecom and we are working on it at present.

Thanks Maverick.  No one can call me but I can call out the phone either rings and rings or it has the "call cannot be connected message".  I just get ringing at Xnet helpdesk with no message or anything.  I am in Johnsonville Wellington

Sounds like someone will be shopping for a redundant solution next week :)

It's not so cool when Vfx lines go down, it also buggered up the days work (I was careless and wasn't expecting the link to fail, so wasn't taking any precautions).

However I'm very glad that you had the balls to let us know that there was a problem, what it was, and the status of the repairs. That alone is enough to keep you guys at the top of the ISP pile.

Cheers, Ed.
