Anyone within 15km line of sight of Woodridge got a decent (read:working) internet connection wanna help me 'test' out a point to point wireless bridge out? haha

freitasm: Apparently this has been escalated for everyone affected now.
Yes. Yes it has :)
Can anyone following this thread who's currently affected please PM me with your Modem MAC and/or account number
Let's try this again (I forgot I was VF verified on this account, not my personal one).
Anyway; can those affected please PM me on this account, instead.
Cheers

Can you perhaps explain the issue with static IP as well please?
Some of us opted to retain static IP but found we have lost it when switching to the new service?
cheers
And i'm back online. Thanks DavidVF. Geekzone for the win yet again
Yip, I am back online as well. 5 minutes on hold then I got level 1 support. Explained my situation and they knew what was going on. They couldn't reach 2nd level so they rang me back once they got through.. 5 minutes later. Not bad. Not sure how long it took for the modem to reactivate as I as out...
So people know; we're in the process of rolling out a mass fix. It's being slowed down somewhat by needing to manually check the change file to make sure we're not going to roll back anyone who has been _actually_ migrated onto the D3.1 product completely.
Anyone who's still broken; please feel free to PM me your MAC (and account number, if you know it).
Cheers
David
Thanks for making this topic. It was turning into Kapiti Congestion 2.0 in there - and now I'm partially to blame. :P
EDIT
Just saw the above post. Thanks for reaching out, David! Will snag that info for you...
Another dynamic IP victim. Dead connection most of this morning.
I'm back now (with a temporary static IP profile).
Speeds unchanged.
Awaiting speed upgrade Monday.
I got excellent online support this morning - answered immediately, detailed trouble-shooting, and two call-back phone calls plus a ms to check on my progress.
Sideface
Shoutout to @DavidVF for getting us sorted! We're back up and running now and things are performing as expected. I can now go back to being excited about Monday. :D
Additionally, I took a moment of this downtime to finally update my motherboard BIOS, since I already had it downloaded. Had to overclock the CPU again, but decided to fine-tune the voltage a bit more for efficiency. Pretty good results...
Another update; we're working our way through the list of affected customers still. It's proving irritatingly manual to safely roll people back, so it will be a little bit longer before it's done.
That said, if you're reading this and you're still broken, drop me your MAC and account number and I'll monitor for resolution.
Cheers
David
I am casual lurker here.
But I have signed up to say that I am too down. I have been using mobile data on Spark since 7am and I finally rang just now because I had a suspicion this was what had happened. Call it intuition. While I was put on hold for the nice Vodafone rep to talk to a second team I then read geekzone and like magic I saw this headline.
When he came back to me he said I should just wait an hour and it should be working again.
I suppose I could send a PM but I don't quite understand technical things as such or what information I would need to provide.
After an hour I will probably get impatient though lol.
I find it strange that in being offered gigabit internet I am cut off from the internet entirely. I suppose the idea is that if we can experience having no internet then having 1Gbps speed will be even more fun. Just kidding. But yeah this is quite a mess isn't it? When's stuff going to write an article about it so I can share it on Facebook to all of my friends lol
If it's still down by tonight I will have to buy extra mobile data and I will minus that off any future bills Vodafone sends me unless they agree to pay for it and avoid a whole drama *winky face*
After reading this entire thread, I would be very skeptical that anyone's upgrade to 1Gb will be all plain sailing. If this thread is anything to go by, expect the worst (although I could be wrong).
