You can't.  It's dependent on what Akamai decide Xnet users are demanding most and thus place on those content servers.

Sorry to be a pain XNet, but I really think you need to spell this out a bit better.  I for one assumed local would include XNet users.

That's a good point. Where on the Xnet site does it say local traffic doesn't include to other customers?

Guys seriously this will never happen, most of the bandwidth is used by per to per user nows, what would happen if this was the case do you think ? one big per to per network with a few users taking the bulk of thye traffic and network time with no cost ..... I think not everFrown

Good response Phil!

Personally, I'd love a plan that puts me in a pool of bandwidth dedicated to non p2p users. As much as WxC want to treat all traffic the same, sooner or later there is going to have to be alternatives to manage the bandwidth sapping p2p.

As would I. As a light user, being unable to stream Youtube at peak hours is extremely irritating.

Sorry I seriously disagree - we all pay the same cost per GB dude - how I use my spend is irrelevant.....

Is nobody used P2P (and it wasn't replaced by similar applications), there'd be far more bandwidth to go around.

Coffeebarons suggestions sound a bit like..... Go Large........

Anyway, I agree with Filterer - I pay for data, I can use data however I like.

So hence the reason you will NEVER see free user to user traffic .....user pays is fine but due to the large amount of traffic usage by Per to per thats why it would never be free...DC hubs would run rampant

I believe P2P traffic should be greatly deprioritized compared to simple traffic like streaming, gaming and browsing.

It was just an illistrative example, equally I could have said if no one used air for living there would be far more to go around

Sure, if you are paying for a flat rate, or for upto xx mbps with a fair usage policy.... but if I am paying $1 per GB, why should my traffic be less of a priority to bobs web traffic. We are both paying for it, I don't want to be a second class citizen.
