Cheers for that. I'll give them a buzz and see what they can offer. Though I am not interested in anything that comes with a contractual term.

Just had another outage for about 1 and 1/2 hours in Waikanae.

As you can see from the graphs (ping to vodafone DNS servers) both min/max latency is vastly improved just after the outage.

Same outage, but to OpenDns servers:

twisted: Logged with a 'vodafone ninja'

Not much help aside from asking me to call back when I'm at home so they can test the WiFi channels.

They are offering some good deals to stay on the cable network. Give retentions a call.

I would quiet happily pay vodafone the normal rate of $79.00 /Month instead of my already discounted amount to $39.50 per month. A good deal IMO would be a reliable service (but they can't seem to be able to offer that).

I too have been getting outages for several months and have probably only logged about 4. I was told that it is a network issue and that my node was being repaired today...yet the retention team told me that that the repair is being worked on and is not yet done.

For the love of god VF....all we want is reliable messages from staff...

I do hope this isnt a repeat of the Krapi kapiti Issue again!!!

Sorry not a VF customer here, but was curious about these graphs. Did you use a program to collect the data and create the graphs?

Just a raspberry pi running jessie linux.

The program is called MRTG, and using the mrtg-ping-probe to ping a selection of IP Addresses I have setup. Once you have jessie up and running you can just install MRTG, and the probe using apt-get.

I used it years ago in my first job. I was surprised that this program was still around. It has certainly come in very useful to check my internet connection for dropouts. We use to use it to monitor a our 2mbit/s link into the company. This was in the mid 90's LOL

Yes, those graphs look really good for this purpose.

2 more dropouts in the last 12 hours.

- +/- 9:45pm to 10:45 pm last night.

-  +/- 7:00am to 8:00am this morning,

Keen to hear from others in Kapiti if their dropouts coincide with mine. Really annoing, as I am trying to work from home and having to resort to using the hotspot feature on my iphone.

I'm out of contractual term, so contemplating a return to spark if drop offs continue. Anyone able to comment on spark's reliability on the coast?

Had an interesting call from Vodafone.

They have admitted that this is a wild-spread problem in my area. Node W92 was reset twice yesterday which explains 2 of my major dropouts over the last 24hours. Apparently there is no expected time frame as to when this node will get fixed. I will continue to report all of my dropouts.

So you should be getting a price reduction until this fault is fixed.

Good to know. How does one determine what node they are on? As I understand it there are at least two other nodes In kapiti (w82, w83)

Also on Waikanae node W92 (fiberX 200/20 static ip), my outages correspond to the same times posted above, daily.  If you hear of any news on this please post.  Frustrating yell

2 more massive dropouts for me over the last 24hours, Kapiti Coast, Waikanae, Node W92.

- +/- 12:30pm to 15:00pm Wed the 12th Dec.

-  +/- 12:45am to 4:15am this morning Thursday the 13th Dec.

With the size of the massive dropout in the early hours of this morning I hope it was the planned outage for a node upgrade. Apparently this is planned work and the upgrade is suppose to fix my problem, but Vodafone can't give me any details about when this is suppose to happen.
