Thanks Stevie .. yeah, I get the little message window asking for Password too, and that is because the server is kaput ... if you look at "Details" it says server not available.
Waiting game now ... I'm going to have a large gin and watch Myth Busters ![]()
From Voda web site:
UPDATED @ 18:00 - Clearnet or Paradise email customers may be experiencing issues logging into their webmail services. This issue may also cause issues syncing Clearnet or Paradise emails with Outlook and other third-party clients. We are also aware that some customers may experience delays sending and receiving emails from their Clearnet and Paradise addresses at this time. Our engineers are looking into this at the highest priority - updates to be provided as they become available. We apologise for any inconvenience this may be causing. Thanks for your patience
Linux: Why would changing your password slow down SPAM email ?
Linux
No clue, but that's what the Vodafone twitter team asked for.
UPDATED @ 19:30 - This morning we had hardware issues on one of our mail servers which meant some Clearnet and Paradise customers have had trouble accessing their email accounts today. We know this must be really frustrating for our customers and would like to thank you for your patience. We have a team working on it urgently and expect to resolve the issue overnight. We apologise for any inconvenience this may be causing. Thanks for your patience
phantomdb: Get a new IP from ISP dhcp and try again. I had a weird problem last week when a cable modem was issued a x.x.x.255 address and it broke a few web sites. Renewed the IP lease and all sorted.
Vodafone have done .255 ips for years now..
The annoying few issues with sites can be ever so frustrating..
try to raise it as an issue, you will be told to reboot your modem, oh hey problem solved, not.. passed along to the next poor sod

Clearnet mail is up and running for me this morning, spam included.
Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.
Apologies for the issues, the engineers found and resolved the problem late last night and we're not seeing any issues this morning.
Hello Mike,
Thanks for your update, and this morning emails appear to be coming in loud & clear (excuse the pun
), even a few repeats but that is to be expected.

>The problem is that people don't want to pay for email, so where is the money going to come from to both support and upgrade them.<
You forget that we do pay for such email, via our monthly fees for internet, phones, etc.
What's more, Clear/Vodafone have a specific email charge if you want to access it outside of their network. (product is email+) It would be great if they did invest that money into having SSL access to their servers or even https on their webmail page.
