Clear and Paradise email customers/servers appear to be out of action since 7am this morning ... latest posted update on Voda site at 9:45am says "being investigated" and an 'engineering priority'.

Seem to be working fine now (for receiving and looking at the web-mail at least)
Worked for a few minutes, then baulked again. Voda update at 12:30pm says problem is ongoing.
maybe vodafone can make use of this outage, and upgrade the platform to something of this century...
including servers that support SSL without jumping through all the hoops of /p....

I think any thought of an upgrade can be filed under "things that ain't ever gonna happen"
The problem is that people don't want to pay for email, so where is the money going to come from to both support and upgrade them. That is why gmail, outlook mail, and facebook which are all free, are some of the most used providers, and they are collecting info about you for advertising. Almost impossible for any other email provider to compete.

You forget that we do pay for such email, via our monthly fees for internet, phones, etc.

It's usually 'free' addon. I doubt too much will be going to that either, because if it was it would have been upgraded to at least use SSL. ISP email addresses main purpose IMO is to make people less likely to move to another ISP, as it is a hassle to change email addresses for many people. The fact is that ISPs seem to be moving away from providing email services, and new ISPs tend to not provide them at all these days. They seem to be going the way of newsgroup servers, which at one stage most isps provided.

PS Email still out as at 2:45pm.
Odd. The mail websites for both seem to be working fine and I just sent a test to my Paradise account and was able to see it in the Windows 10 mail client. Maybe you have reached a place of "it's not them, it's you" :)

Probably just my luck to be on different server/radius database to you, and they are repairing sequentially I can't access web-based interface yet either.

Still out ... a touch annoying
Must be rebuilding and running back-ups to re-populate servers?
Was working before, although I did have the morning outage. It seemed to only affect customers who had recently changed their passwords. I had mine changed because unfortunately I am also receiving an increase of spam.
Now I open Outlook and I get a prompt for my password, which I haven't changed. So no emails for me right now. Although I have noticed the prompt comes up and doesn't accept the actual password. A few hours later and I try it, and it works again. Sometimes it will happen to my email account and not my dads, or sometimes his and not mine -- but again, it usually is sorted a few hours later. I wonder what is going on there?
