Problem resolved I think.  I was using the stock Android messaging app and my S8 had put the app to sleep to save battery.  I have now excluded messaging from the battery save process.

Is this something unique to the S8 or might other Android phones have this problem? I had a quick look at my NX5 battery settings and couldn't see anywhere where it said about putting apps to sleep to save battery.

It's the Samsung battery saver thing.  I've never seen it on a stock Android.  If only LineageOS supported phones that did all the NZ 3G/4G bands, had decent screens and cost under NZD200, I'd have bought one of those.

Yeah it's the Samsung specific battery saver app.

My other half has started complaining her iPhone texts to me HTC 10 have started to not go through.

Nothing has changed on my end but she recently has updated her phone.

At same time noticed that her personalised ring tones have changed to default intermittently so maybe it's an iPhone issue?

As of about 1-2 weeks ago only approx 50% of her text messages arrive on my phone.

Depends who you ask. Some call it 'bug', others call it 'feature.' innocent

Sorry for jumping in ;-)
