aarond:
coffeebaron: There are a few ways around this, you just need to have a legit physical address for the line to be provisioned against.
E.G. if you have an office or holiday home (AKA friends) in Kaitaia, then you may be able to sign up under this address.
WxC's responsibility is to ensure the LCA number assigned at sign up is matched against a legit address. Where you plug your box in after that is up to you.

So can anyone confirm, if I have a physical address in another LCA to register the number against, can I get an additional number in that LCA (in addition to the Auckland number I have).

Yes that is correct, but it can not be provisoned on the same device due to the structure of number allocations and devices within the network, you will need a second device.

Niel: As far as I know calls between 2x VFX numbers are free no matter which calling area they are in.  Would this solve your dilemma?  Also, can someone at WxC please advice if this is correct?

Correct, VFX to VFX is free no matter what region you are in.
