Maybe, but that hasn't stopped Spark from doing the right thing.

Just noticed mine was dropping too.

I like how Vodafone list it as "Other" under plan charges, I'll never use them again that's for sure.

Semi related, do they still have their calling card service running? I have an ex TCL account and that's the only thing left on it.

Just received:

The Commerce Commission has laid 10 charges against Vodafone New Zealand Limited (Vodafone) alleging it made false representations in invoices sent to its customers.

Charges were filed in Auckland District Court under the Fair Trading Act and cover the period from 1 January 2012 to 1 January 2017.

The Commission alleges that, having agreed with a customer to terminate their service part-way through the next month, Vodafone then sent an invoice that included charges for the entire next monthly billing period.

As such, the Commission alleges that Vodafone misrepresented its right to payment because its customers only owed payment for the services provided prior to the agreed termination date.

The Commission cannot comment further while this case is before the Court. This matter will be called in the Auckland District Court for the first time on 11 September 2018.

Does the above charge relate to charging $5/mth for a dormant account that still has credit on it as well?

Both my wife and I had this problem. Even after I got the credit refunded they still charged me another $5 the following month, despite having not used the account in a couple of years because I cancelled it...

I can't think of a more scummy thing for a company to do. I definitely will never use Vodafone for anything in future.

I hope VF gets absolutely hammered for this. It's amazing to me that their legal and risk teams still have jobs, given the frequency with which VF has been in trouble with the Comcom and convicted under the FTA.

I cracked up when I saw the recent statement for an account I just cancelled.

Not only because I'm actually in the opposite situation of somehow having a credit on an account I never paid anything on (as it was terminated before billing was setup because VF couldn't deliver); and will probably now get emailed every month about...

But "Say goodnight to cancer" isn't too far off the feeling of departing from Vodafone...
