Linux: Make sure the new Vodafone modem has the latest firmware on it

Check out the help section on the VodafoneNZ site this covers everything you need to know including update process

Please don't say it was just sent to me so it must do!

John

How do i know what the lastest firmware is?, on the link below i have downloaded and tired to install but the modem session times out before the firmware upgrade is  finished. The file i downloaded to install is named ultrahub_crf731.rbi the modem displays firmware currently as 17.1.7875-2461002-CRF731 so looks like may already have the latest version.

You are trying to install the latest over the top of the latest look at the end of the file name

So no reason to update

Have to say two days of use the homehub is  driving me nuts, first day the wifi is soo bad i cant even make proper skype calls from my office which had no issue on the HG659 still dropping out and the fact cant get static routes or block google DNS at parental mode. I was told by the Vodafone Ninjas wifi would be better on the new one. I am going to just switch back to the old modem why cant Vodafone provide a decent modem as part of their internet packages.

Hi Stuart.

While you are testing from the customer end, I would be keen to compare the results to Vodafone and Chorus tests during the same time.

If you don't mind, can you please DM me your account details so i can kick some overnight tests off.

Shaun
