The last one was a prepaid advert.

Good luck getting it sorted. When I had a VF prepaid, kept getting advertising SMS from them. STOP SMS didn't work, and calling up to get them stopped worked for a few weeks up to a couple of months, before it would get reactivated. @Linux even suggested precisely what to request be deactivated, but eventually it would be reset and the advertising would start again.

Yesterday Spark gave me the following offer-

Unlimited calling / texts.

13Gb data

Landline number

Spotify + Lightbox

$59.99 incl GST per month.

Tablet share - $9.99 incl GST (Vodafone can't even do this)

@MichaelNZ VodafoneNZ Can do data sharing and have for a long time, You can even manage / allocate data to the shared connection so one single user does not use it all up

https://www.vodafone.co.nz/red-share/

@sbiddle uses it as well

What I wanted was a SIM to stick into my tablet which shares the data - not a more expensive group plan.

2degrees can do this. Spark can do this. Vodafone was able to at one stage but no longer can.

I vaguely recall being offered a useless option whereby I could have a second "tablet share SIM" but it would have it's own data allocation and that wasn't much (500Mb I think it was).

I can't not fathom why it has to be so complex.

I have a cellphone and a tablet and I use data on both of them without having to worry my tablet will run out.

Everything is a mission with Vodafone involving multiple phone calls and week plus wait times. Right now the only thing they are offering me which Spark is not is the femtocell. Now I have an office in town that is less of a benefit.

@MichaelNZ The 500MB tablet plan was offered like 7 years ago!! What I have linked off to is tablet data sharing and does use a single data bundle from a single allocation of data

It's not complex in anyway at all only you are making it complex

Here we go again. Blame the customer rather than taking responsibility for:

1. The plans are out of date

and/or

2. The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.

As already stated to you before customers do need to take some responsibility for actions but you seem to think the customer is always right!

I can tell you now and will stand by this ' The customer is not always right '

John

I will happily and publicly confirm I do indeed aim to treat the customer right.

Is the customer always right? Possibly not. But what does the above achieve apart from attempting to point score? No customer likes to be called an idiot or have this implied.

Vodafone have offered tablet share for many years now on most plans (just checked and it launched in 2014). I've got 5 data SIMs shared with my 10GB mobile plan and don't pay anything extra for these.

Setting these up was the simplest process in the world so I have to totally disagree that everything has to involve multiple phone calls and wait times or be complex - it will only end up being like this if you want things to be difficult. The only inconvenience was having to join the queue in a store to get new SIM cards.
