can we not just go back to ICMS for everything ;)

I'm not surprised vf are closing off hosting, another hassle off their list. It's so much easier than migrations!

ICMS on XP/Win7 was fun! And at least we had colours and not just console green

Well I'm going to need to move my weather station website which has been running for more than 10 years..

As many have posted above there are technical reasons to do this but I am struck how it will just make it easier to change providers.

I kept paying for my ihug address while I was overseas for a year and then when i returned 7 years ago i just signed up again with Vodafone without thinking too much. But if I hadn't the pull of my old email address there is a reasonable chance i would have chosen someone else..

Also when I returned I just got out my old PC that was running the weather station software, updated the new login passwords and the website was up and running again in 30 minutes.

So I wonder about churn....
