On 28 February 2019, we’ll be closing our web and email hosting services. This includes:

• Domain Name Registration
• Email Hosting
• Web Hosting
• Domain Name Hosting (DNS Hosting)

So it sounds like the are throwing out TheProgram2 and TheDomain and migrating to Siebel. Hopefully Clarify also gets it head chopped in the migration.
About time.
Been like what, 5 years coming?

yayy more siebel, my love my joy!

can we not just go back to ICMS for everything ;)

I'm not surprised vf are closing off hosting, another hassle off their list. It's so much easier than migrations!

At first glance I thought this was old news, but the old news I was thinking of wad the homepages server being retired at the end of this month.

Except from my email:

Hello,
Here’s a quick reminder to let you know that from 30 November 2018, we’ll be closing our web hosting services for personal homepages.

We’re encouraging customers who want to keep their homepage to move to a specialist web hosting company who can offer a more modern hosting functionality.

It's an annoyance for existing customers having to move these services, but I don't think it's a bad thing for Vodafone to exit these services if they don't want to invest in being a big player.  I can only think of one of our clients using Vodafone for domains names (actually the old clear.net system!) and none using web hosting....  actually I've just been corrected...  one other client does host a web site with them.

I'd not be astonished if this means the end of ihug email forwarding....  which would be annoying.  My wife's main email address was an ihug one until 12 months ago and she has lots of online store logins (1-day, grabone, etc) still using that email address.

No point competing with G Suite.

At first glance, that's good well thought out information, Shaun.

Any chance you can ask if the forwarding of ihug.co.nz (etc) email addresses will die at the same time?

Its actually good timing... family friend has been hassling me to rebuild their site etc which is currently held with Vodafone. So time to shift it off.

I'd make an educated guess that those DNS tools will be culled which would be linked to some special database that only sounddude can decode and thats half the reason why they need to ditch it.

Excellent..... someone to blame!

@frietasm can we please have @sounddude 's IP address from the logs so we can track him down and lynch him?  I'm sure we can blame him for something else as well.  wink

This is good enough reason. Also spell the boss's name correctly, I after the E without a C or something. IDK.

So I'm right in thinking this includes the Paradise homepages server?
