21brandon21:

Only affects Copper customers, just rang up doesn't affect people with UFB.

The table on their site is pretty damn clear... it does.

otherwise they are seriously misreported

The reasoning behind this rise does look to differ from sparks angle and follows Vodafones market trends

I am sure you were told incorrect information and it does apply to all customers

Although interestingly the site linked above explicitly states that it excludes fixed wireless customers.

Can they legally charge extra fees if you've agreed on a fixed price? Do you have the option of having the contract voided? I just rang them again and they know nothing about the $3, only the $5 for copper.

I'm not sure where it lists 5$? seems to be 3$ in all the content..

I'll double check with the one that gets the bill for my VF line but based on the published content i'd say it's 3$ all round.

I'm surprised they called the call centre as the Vodafone NZ site is very clear

cokemaster: It’s interesting cause when Spark did it, they gave you the option of exiting without penalty.

I asked at Vodafone at Queensgate branch Lower Hutt if the $3 charge applied to all customers including those still under contract. The salesman said yes, but also said that those under contract had the option to break the contract if they want.

Oh no, not another end of the world prediction

Depends I guess if you claim the detriment is material $72 over 24 months (dependant on term remaining) might be arguable.

"a) We’ll let you know directly at least 30 days before we make the change.  If the detriment is material, we will let you terminate any fixed term contract, or change plans, without an early termination charge or transfer fee."

My guess - Contracts will be allowed to be broken on a case by case basis minimum.

Slightly off topic but curious as to why.
I just checked my bill and I pay $100 per month for 22GB including the family member I have added on.
The plan on my bill is Red Plus Essentials - SIMO for $69.55+gst Add on the 17.38+gst for the family member and you get $99 incl. the plan on the website currently advertised says $99 plus the 19.99 for the family member. But it comes with Netflix. Am I reading it wrong and the share part is free or no? Would not mind the Netflix.
If there is an increase. I wonder why?

When I saw that the $3 price increase does not apply to fixed wireless, I assumed it was in response to a Chorus increase. (Doesn't explain an increase in cable price, but I guess they think they can get away with it.)
We are off contract, so maybe it's time to call the Retention Team!

Wow, calm the farm people!  It's $3.  That's about 41c per week.  Jeesh.  I am sure there are bigger things to get in a uproar about than such a piddly amount.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

In addition to increases in property rates, insurance, electricity, etc.
