I'm just it at the moment, I've heard back and they've replaced the Sim which seems to be working again. I'll be over to bother in laws tonight so I'll get more info then.

Cheers

This is where I get to look like a bit of a jerk. I met with my father in law today, and found out he did in fact swap the sim at Vodafone in the Albany mall, and since then it's been working okay. He said he's only getting 1 bar at my brother in laws house where he used to get more, but isn't concerned with that.

He did confirm they had swapped the sim into my brother in laws phone and it worked fine, and brother in laws spark sim worked fine in the iPhone. The person at VF said he hadn't seen anything like what was happening, but swapped his personal sim into the phone, and it came right up. So it appears this may have been a funky sim issue that was difficult to pin down, and is working properly now. I feel like a bit of a jerk for the thread, as it didn't seem like a sim issue from the information I had at the time.

So for now, this is resolved. They'll be heading back to CHC this weekend, so it should be fine until they leave. None of the rest of us are on VF, so it we couldn't swap it with a VF sim to check (though the spark and another sim worked). Sorry for the thread. I'll mark this as answered. Thank you all for the assistance with this.

Great to see this is now sorted. The team did look into this a fair bit today but couldn’t find any reason for this to have happened...so the sim swap makes sense.

Appreciate the update.

Cheers

So sorry about that. I feel horrible about it. It seemed odd that swapping between the phones didn't pick it up as a sim issue. I feel horrible about this now.

Mate - I'm on Fair Go this week (which we should have fronted up to last week) because we sent a poor lady multiple invoices over a number of years addressed to her deceased husband...so you have nothing to be sorry about at all. We are just glad he is back up and running. Don't hesitate to let me know if we can help in the future. Cheers
