Probably because most of the p2p traffic breaches copyright.

I mean how many "linux distro's" do you need to fill your 75gb monthly traffic quota.

pistolpower: Yeah well you know what? Lol im gona laugh at you because theres not really anyone good to go with is their? Lol all the isps are bad..... Especially telecom... So its not gona make much difrence who you go to. But it might be better than you have now.

You know if the isps just cached more popular stuff like things downloaded on p2p and utube as theyre probably some of the highest consumers of bandwidth then we would have enough international bandwidth for everyone and our p2p and youtube would be like omg so fast and local content. And local content is free so ftw! Lol i dont understand why they do not do this lol?

I disagree entirely. TCL cable allows rock solid ~10Mbps torrent downloads 24/7. I consider that to be fair good performance.

As for Telecom being bad if you did any research on the matter you'd find that Telecom seem to be delivering some (if not the best) performance right now for residential ADSL connections.

There is a reason ISP's don't cache P2P content - because probably 99% of it is copyrighted material.

Se7ensyns: I tried to switch back to xtra the other day but cant as I am on fusion :( wish I had of known that I would be stuck before I went naked Embarassed.  I havent had a problem with the CSR's but I have had a problem they have still not fixed since I joined about 8 months ago.  They really need a shake up.  I really need Telecom to offer Naked DSL so I can move because I am not paying to have my line re-wired

Telecom wanted to charge me also when I looked at telecom/xtra.   However Orcon didn't mention any connection charges, and verfied moving from WxC's Naked Adsl was not a problem.

from Orcon's LLU+ FAQ: http://www.orcon.net.nz/faqs/orcon_llu_faq/
Once the services have been switched over to us, our technical whizzes visit your local telephone exchange and literally disconnect your line from the old system and reconnect it to Orcon's new network.

I filled out the ocron online application 3 days later a chorus guy turns up checks my jack with some device and goes up the telephone pole does some wiring coms back inside looks at the ADSL light on my router and says all done.

I check my dsl router and unfortunitly its not as high as I was hoping but still faster than xnet

Status:Up
dw(vt_dsr); Downstream Rate:15666 Kbps
dw(vt_usr); Upstream Rate:1020 Kbps

Just before he came and switched me over i was trying to download some nvidia drivers it was going at ~20k. I stoped the download and tried again when I was on orcon, and it came down at 1.2megabytes per second.

So yeah.. Im pretty impressed so far

And guess what? I can actually watch you tube videos, time to load up chocolate rain

Hmmm.... not much has changed with Worldxchange, almost a year since I've switched back to Telecom and Phone with 2Talk.
"CHANGE" is always better.
