Here is the content:

"I emailed Xnet this morning regarding the absolute s***e performance from them recently…..  this was their response :

"What kind of speeds are you getting? If your national
performance is suffering there may be an issue I can help with but we
can’t guarantee international performance. The usage monitor has been
running behind lately but it will be up to date as of the ‘last update’
column, it was never intended to be a real- time usage monitor.
Customers are still being provided the service and they are free to
leave/cancel when they like with no fees. If you are having issues
midnight-8am and you are on torrent you may find an improvement by
switching to pay per meg. I apologise for the inconvenience but I do
not see the international performance improving drastically any time in
the near future."

Read between the lines : Fudge off unless you give us more money.

Fine. I’ll fudge off. I was a supporter of Xnet/WxC but their
attitude lately sucks a** and Im no longer promoting them. I’ll also be
advising my family to get themselves off the toll plans they have with
WxC as well and go elsewhere."

I'm sure it wouldn't have come from anyone in management, probably a csr who is getting p***ed off at everyone ringing up complaining about the speeds.

Time for me to find someone else as well.

I called them up in the weekend and I got though within about 5 seconds (world first as of recent) and the guy was the most unenthused person, He told me to call back in the week when someone was there to tell me what I wanted to know (not related to speeds or anything) and then we were left with about 30 seconds of silence, until I eventually just said bye, and he didnt even respond.

LOL! Please sign up for the "Torrent" plan if you haven't already.

I would like the old Xnet back please.

"Xnet can I have a static IP"... sure
"Xnet can I have my rDNS updated to mydomain.com"... sure
"Wow I get exactly the speeds my line syncs at... dude, you gotta join Xnet"

Get rid of the torrent plan... per meg works...

In my 16 years in IT (yep was on the Internet before the www was even a research project at CERN - yay terminal dial in sessions :P) I have never found an ISP as good as Xnet was.... sorry to say I've had enough.

Hello XPD its been a while

Im about to jump ship, the international speeds are a joke and they ahve been that way for several months.

not being able to watch a youtube video at 10@ night = fail
not being able to dl a video driver you want in under 3 hours = fail
not being able to browse websites with out feeling like its the early 90's = fail

my national speeds are good, which is Good, I was prepaird to put up with it for a while however now there charging me for a static im out of there.

Someone also told me that the Xnet staff at Gpforums are very rude to members questioning Xnet's performance. Kick them out if that is how they are going to represent your company Xnet.

Do whatever you want to do man.

You very well are correct, but Xnet management should have organised an "official" response by now for their staff to use. Ive worked for 2 ISP's and if there was something screwy going on, we would at least have some form of official word to give customers.
The response I got was not very professional really....

Yeah I can't understand why xnet haven't fronted up here or on their homepage with an apology and an explanation as to what is going on and why it has been going on for so long.

I think they underestimate how understanding customers will be if only they are kept in the loop as to what is the problem and what xnet are planning on doing about it.

GPForums isn't an official forum for support, what they post is their opinion and doesn't (officially) represent their Employer. Smile

I've just signed with Orcon Home+

I like fusion, VFX, and being charged for only what I use... but I can't put up with the slow international anymore, and the lack of interest / Communication from XNET really annoys me.

Hopefully XNET take notice of the number of customers exiting, and do something to improve matters.

I tried to switch back to xtra the other day but cant as I am on fusion :( wish I had of known that I would be stuck before I went naked Embarassed.  I havent had a problem with the CSR's but I have had a problem they have still not fixed since I joined about 8 months ago.  They really need a shake up.  I really need Telecom to offer Naked DSL so I can move because I am not paying to have my line re-wired

I can't understand why in 11 months of obvious problems xnet haven't been able to come up with anything other than ineffective bandaid fixes.

Trying to run an ISP in the age of youtube and bittorrent without carrier grade traffic management and caching is retarded.

Yeah well you know what? Lol im gona laugh at you because theres not really anyone good to go with is their? Lol all the isps are bad..... Especially telecom... So its not gona make much difrence who you go to. But it might be better than you have now.

You know if the isps just cached more popular stuff like things downloaded on p2p and utube as theyre probably some of the highest consumers of bandwidth then we would have enough international bandwidth for everyone and our p2p and youtube would be like omg so fast and local content. And local content is free so ftw! Lol i dont understand why they do not do this lol?
