Niel:
photoman: Are you aware that if you've been with them for less than a year, you now face a $99 disconnection fee. Something they decided to add to their terms and conditions, but didn't bother informing anyone about. I thought companies were supposed to notify their customers of any changes to their terms and conditions.

They did not inform you because the T&C you agreed to did not change.  It is only for new customers signing up, and they are made aware of it during sign-up.  Virtually all ISPs have a minimum contract, so XNet has simply changed from a nice ISP to a normal ISP.  They have not "gone bad" or anything like that, they are just migrating to "normal".

Some good news about Xnet for a change. Now I can start looking again. Only been with them for four months, but the service is migrating towards Orcon conditions.

*Please
note the Torrent option is not suitable for people who surf the net or
play on-line games between midnight and 8am: as speeds are affected by
the P2P and downloading activity of other users.*

I joined torrent in June and I don't recall seeing that when I signed up. I think it was added some months after I joined. (though I could be wrong). However. I changed backed to fusion on 7/11/08 and my speeds are excellent around the clock now. Back to peak time dowlnloads. I can see things doing a full turn around and peak time coming to a grinding halt. Torrent plan= fail

Cheers ;-)

DrGr33n, looking at your signature you should not be downloading during peak time unless you are a dead fish:

DrGr33n: Only dead fish go with the flow..

On the contrary. I'm a live fish who left a dead plan. If I was going with the flow I'd be leaving xnet altogether. Looking at your sig
you only have one volvo. Anyway back to the topic...

Cheers ;-)
