Glad to see some positive news about WxC/Xnet in the forums!

I am not very 'techie' at all so use my laptop for normal 'net surfing ... but nothing special. Use the PS3 & Xbox 360 for a lot of gaming and I've never had an issue with xnet, I've found all the people I've dealt with have been very nice & professional. If there have been speed issues say with youtube, I've let it stream and gone off to say make a coffee and come back and its been fine.  But perhaps I am just a "glass half full" sort of person ... Innocent

Xnet is fine for me too as said before... What I hate though is whiners who ruin these happy threads...

I've also changed from the torrent plan back to pay per meg and are happy with xnet once again.
My speeds are fine now, no complaints ..

I say good on you xnet for seperating the torrent users from the normal users, I can certainly see the difference now I have changed back !

What happens when every torrent user switches back to pay per meg, you have the same old problem with peak time international performance that led them to create the torrent plan in the first place.

They need to implement PeerApp (or equivalent) torrent caching plus Cisco Service Control Engine/NetEnforcer (or equivalent) traffic management so badly it's not even funny.

The posters who are happy now obviously don't stream video on the web. If they did, they'd notice that even now Xnet can't provide adequate international peak time bandwidth.

I have no problems with that for the whole day until after 6ish. Quite stable speeds for all the daylight hours really.. my upstream speed plummeted a few days ago but I put that down to the copper, it's now back to normal.

Can anyone on xnet that is "happy" with it play a youtube or vimeo clip, even the low-quality one without resorting to pausing it and walking away for 10 mins?

Can you load a large image (1600x1200 or so) without losing interest and going to another tab to do something else and forgetting that you were waiting to see something?

Internet too slow to watch Youtube; however I was able to watch a lot of Entourage from Megavideo without much troubles or waiting for it to buffer. I am on FS/128k

Have to admit it's weird after coming home from Canada and UK after one year where cable was at insane speeds and our BT ADSL was very fast too

Hope it improves so I can at least watch Youtube

No, really I do. Apart from the torrent speed issues a times I'm more than happy. On naked broadband and loving it. I thought there was enough doom and gloom in this Forum and a happier thread was needed .

[snip]

ps.......No, don't work for or even know any employees of WXC etc Sealed

Shockingly bad speedtest results on Xnet

Tell me again how this is good?

Wouldn't that speed have more to do with the DSLAM you're connected to?

Very unlikely as if the physical connection was that slow, the upload speed would be in the 2 figure range. This sounds like the issues I get, and my modem always sync at 7616Kbps. That's a throughput issue (therefore most likely an Xnet problem) not a line speed issue.

See my new topic for more results that suggest otherwise. BTW - Xnet's OWN speedtest reports fast download and upload ( 3000kb down, 500kb up) speeds. But Speedtest.net says otherwise... very odd.

It's all about having the plan suit you IMO, and this is probably right, I download alot but I don't regularly browse youtube or stream video, so this plan suits me :)
