Probably need to elaborate your findings more. Description is a bit muddled.

On the one hand you tell us The Wireless modem I had could not be used to the new Fiber Install so I had to wait for Vodafone to send me a new modem.

And on the other, telling it is was twice the speed during the wait period. How can it be, if you couldn't use it on the new fibre

And if you mean it was running under 4G connection instead during that time, it's from the local cell tower. Speed can vary. And the difference between 2.4G and 5G local wifi, can be night and day to that.

Forget speeds on wireless. Too many factors. You can't rely or will likely ever find an answer to the differences without deep investigation and repeatable stats.

Hmmm Maybe it is not so clearly written, English is not my first language.

You are asking how I could use my VDSL modem while I was waiting for the new modem. Because I still have my normal VDSL connection with so I just left everything as it was before Chorus installed Fibre in my house.

Is that more clear? and yes it was running under the 4G connection and I know the speed can vary, but it was suddenly faster than a 100Mbps so if it would stay like that I would not need the fibre connection.

Only thing right know that is better with the fibre is the upload speed which is around 20Mbps and it was 5Mbps before.

Thanks

As you are asking about something that was in the past, and no longer able to replicate. I'm not sure we can help further to explain what may have been the reason.

You have said 3 different connection types now. In your first post - The 45Mbps is the same I got on my wireless 5G Broadband

And now a VDSL connection

They are obviously not the same products/speed capabilities before WiFi is even involved.

VDSL = 25-60Mbps

4G = 20-140Mbps

5G = 50-700Mbps

Can someone help clarify what's going on here, I'm a bit lost?
But I would suggest retesting over ethernet, forget wifi for speed testing.

Healthy VDSL2 connections can achieve 120/30 no problem, depends on distance from cabinet. Your mention of 4G in next sentence makes no sense.

P.S. If  your VDSL2 connection increased in speed did you change anything about the circuit?, i.e., remove a phone or alarm panel. The previous slow VDSL2 upload may have been result of house wiring, e.g., no master splitter filter installed with an unfiltered alarm panel or phone connected.

I’m on the 100/20 plan with Vodafone and consistently get that speed when on Ethernet. If I do a Speedtest on wifi, it fluctuates between 45-60/20.

Pretty happy since swapping to fibre with them, the connection is so much more stable and there have been minimal issues except for chorus outages.
