This is all about not paying chorus tax, 70mbps VDSL is far faster than what you will get on fixed wireless and will easily run VOIP if you have a landline and the NEAX is getting shut down

Reject the courier when the wireless modem shows up

@jasonparis this behaviour from vodafone is appalling

Do you have an analogue landline? If so you could be being proactively moved because of the NEAX shutdowns rather than there being any ulterior motive.

I have been on naked VDSL for about 3 years with Vodafone, previous to that we did have a landline package also with Vodafone. I really think it's strange I have been targeted for wireless when fibre is almost ready to order.

Vodafone make more money from you this way though. They have increased the amount you pay by $10 and no longer pay for the VDSL tail from Chorus. You can't blame them for wanting to make money, it's just the ethics of misleading customers in order to do so.

And provide less quality service, I have never seen fixed wireless run at 70mbps

Or as coffeebaron says, try running multiple streaming services 24/7 and see how well 4G goes compared to fixed line VDSL, your cap would be blown toot sweet.

I used to get that here on Vodafone ( Netspeed ) quite regularly, just the router, no external antennas. I did order some antenna from Ali express but made zero change.

This was a few years ago, we had a 120G data cap.

Depending on how much data you use and how reliable you need, I personally would say no to the 4G and use UFB when it arrives.

coffeebaron: Does Vodafone also limit their fixed wireless to 30Mbps like they do RBI?

Has this been a recent change?
