Yes I quite agree with you Niel but I didnt even realise that his username and password were still in the device until about 5 minutes after and we soon changed them when we did. Interestingly too that not only my son and I are with the same ISP but we are also on the same telephone exchange as well.

I would expect you to be able to swap user name and passwords with any other customer of the same ISP, but you should not be able to do multiple simultaneous logins.  As far as I understand when you sign up with one ISP your phone line is configured at the exchange to connect only to that one ISP.  But the ISP can choose to allow more than one simultaneous logins or not at their end (most would not).


Not sure you're correct Neil...  as I've used a friends modem (telecom account) on my line, when I was with a completely different provider.    

Also recently after moving from xnet to orcon LLU for a time I could logon with either my xnet or orcon account details (until I phoned xnet to get my old account disconnected)

I believe you are correct though that two modems can't logon with the same account details at the same time.
