Lorenceo: Now that the bill has been scrapped I wonder if Xnet will change their policy regarding disconnecting people?

Of course they won't. They were doing this before the bill was an itch in the lawmakers pants.

All I can think of is that WxC has biz interests in the USA and those interests are under pressure to comply with a USA law globally.

Why else would they do it?

Because they have principals and values.  If a service provider allows me to be dishonest, then how can I expect them not to be dishonest as well?  I'll prefer dealing with an honest company that stands for something, good on them for enforcing what should be legislation.

Thats exactly why I am changing one of my connections to Telstra Clear.
I believe in the good values in our system of laws, specifically the one that states one is innocent untill proven guilty by a court of law. Telstra Clear has shown they are willing to defend this value and want to help us keep our rights which we have in current legislation.
I thank Telstra Clear for being a company that sticks to its principals and values - something that is hard to do in these times (think google and tienamen square)
