2 way old school SMS was introduced in the 90's so yes you are not the only one that has experienced delayed SMS

 

 

 

During the major Christchurch earthquake SMS cross network was delayed for about 12+ hours due to congestion at the point of interconnect (this hardware was upgraded a number of years ago)

 

 

 

So lesson learnt if urgent ' Call '

Seems to be something weird happening with My One NZ when I log in the detailed usage line by line billing breakdown for calls, TXTs, MMS for the past 30 days is not mine but beyond that looks correct. Credit balance is still correct though.

I noticed few nights ago there was a whole bunch of 15 minute outage windows between 11pm-6am different days for different suburbs  during the week so perhaps a mix up during network maintenance in somehow... I had to do an airplane mode toggle for the relevant night in order to get a data session to come up and checked the service outage page afterwrds.
