Has anybody here actually tried to contact Apple Support?
Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Has anybody here actually tried to contact Apple Support?
- For support in New Zealand, call 0800-692-7753
- Feedback - Apple TV App
Spent an hour on chat and then on the phone with them last night, only to be disconnected on the call. Their entire script focused on troubleshooting a localised problem. Quite frustrating as you tell them things and they do not seem to listen. Took multiple attempts just to communicate my setup.
This is exactly why I haven't resorted to calling them as of yet. It's not just Apple, but I can't remember the last useful phone support call I had.

Thanks for that. I don't want to call them as they will expect me to troubleshoot my own equipment which I know is perfectly fine, but I've submitted the online form with a link to this discussion. It might be a good idea for others to do likewise.
Got apple tv via app on new LG c5...had standard broadband apple TV played fine for 2 weeks then buffering and in and out quality wise so installed fibre ...unlimited one nz speed test over 400 each time still buffering tried new cable hardwired into tv playing better but quality in an out occasionally buffering so still almost unwatchable
Purely anecdotal, but I watched Slow Horses on Apple TV+ last night and it played beautifully in full 4K with no sign of resolution dropping. For the last couple of weeks it had been a mess every time I watched it. So maybe the streaming issues are improving? Anyone else notice a difference recently?

That sounds promising. I didn't use it last night, but will let you know the result next time I try it.
I watched an episode of The Morning Show tonight and the problem is definitely still there. It's maybe slightly better than it was.
I'm afraid you're right. I also watched The Morning Show on Thursday evening and the same issue with dropping resolution was present. And as you say maybe is was slightly better than before. Clearly I was too hopeful that the problem had been fixed.

I've been trying to troubleshoot the issue. AppleTV+ was the only service that would buffer, Slow Horses is OK but Ted Lasso always buffers after an hour or so of watching whatever on the service. Our LG 55sm8100pva WEBOS TV seems to have really crap speeds wired and wireless. I only tested the speed after the AppleTV+ issue as everything else was working, 25 up and 90 down on a Voyager 500/100 plan!
So I changed the setting on the AppleTV app to use lower resolution for video streaming. I haven't tested it yet but I hope the picture quality isnt too shit.
Weird how the only app that buffered was AppleTV+
I would have thought those speeds would be okay for full resolution streaming. As I mentioned in my earlier post, my device is getting 500mb/s downstream so this particular problem is clearly not related to the performance of our connectivity.
I have been having the same issue, on One NZ Fibre in CHC. Thought it was just the device but have been experiencing more and more lately and on wifi devices in home as well. Apple TV 4K connected via Ethernet too. Very frustrating and not sure how to fix, is changing ISP the only solution, or is it an Apple issue not a One NZ issue?
Same issue with Quic so not ISP specific.
Bunch of MacOS & iOS updates out today - wonder if that is hammering the CDN?
Been experiencing the same problem last night also. My Apple TV 4K is getting a bit of age on it so thinking the hardware was starting to fail, switched over to the Apple TV app built into my Panasonic TV and noticed the quality was dropping on it also.
