My Vodafone mobile contract ends in July, i'm paying way too much at the moment for services i don't need. Beware to everyone who is considering locking themselves into a 2 year contract, 2 years is a longgg long time in the mobile world and your current usage patterns could very likely change over that time.

If you're paying too much for services you dont need, you can always change plans. If you're on a You Choose plan, you can move up and down depending on your usage after 6 months of your contract without penalty.

You can't move down without the termination charges, of course you can move up as you will be spending more....

Actually there are no termination charges for moving down, if its six months after the contract started. A friend of mine has already done it, plus I did it on the iphone plans. I was currently on the $80 plan and moved down to $40 at no charge. So I can confirm it is possible.

yip, if you really don't like your contract, you can buy yourself out of it, price varies depending on how long you have left.

Well i was told over 6 months ago that if i moved down, i would have to pay the termination fee.

I feel ripped off now....

Sorry this is off topic.

Just spoke with CS and they noted i couldn't move down from Choose 60 (talker) to Choose 30 (Starter) as they are different plans.

That is true. You can move up and down on txter/talker you choose plans, i.e from YC 250 to YC 60. Unfortunately as the CS told you the starter is a different plan, because whereas a Txter plan is a 24 month term the starter is only a 12 month term. I know it makes no sense as the Starter is technically still a You Choose plan. I suppose for some people, being able to go down to a YC 60 from YC 250 is great if their calling pattern changes, whereas going down from one tier to another on Telecom will cost you $100+GST for every tier you move down to, unless they've changed that of course.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Thanks guys.

I'm 16 months into my contract, so in 2 months i can terminate my contract for $50, down from $160 today.

I'm actually going to move to Vodafone PrePay, unless XT or NZ Comms have a better deal :)

Depends on what you consider "a better deal"?

a better deal is defined as something better than Vodafone will be offering me. (including customer service)

Different customers perceives value in different ways. Do you see bigger text bundles and/or voice bundles as value? Or do you see lower price per minute better value?

Customer service is always going to be hard one. I havent had much luck with either Vodafone or Ihug (Back then) customer services. Even if they did get better, i probably wont see it as better value.

Im really keen to see what 2 degrees and Telecom comes up with. Its about time we got competition going around here.

I just migrated to pre-pay, main reason is everything is automated via SMS, no more having to scream and repeat myself down those flaky VoIP lines to Egypt for simple stuff like best mates.

im seriously considering moving off onaccount, tbh.

I mean, Prepay can add their Bestmate straight away..

On account users.. around 2 working days - or at least, the next business day.

I want it when i want it, not when Vodafone are ready to add it. WHEN I WANT IT.

I dont see what the big issue is? why cant they just do this?

/OT rant. lol

On account has less integration is basically the short answer. Prepay is better integrated.
