What have your power company/postal service/local supermarket etc etc given you over that time? Probably should move from them as well.

I tried me, my sister, my girlfriend, my Mum.. nothing.

Perhaps they should've given away 10,000 lots of $100 credit? I would've been stoked with that, $1000 is kinda excessive..?

Well let see
Power company --- gives me a cheque for about $360 every year not much but nice
Postal Service -- I don't use them
Local supermarket --- has specials every week plus one card which you get stuff from as well

Still everyone has been better then vodafone and I have not used them for as long as i have been using vodafone

The thing I dont get is why people think that being loyal and not gettinganything like the $1000 credit and so moving to another provider such as Telecom or 2degrees will get them more. Sure they will get a a great deal if they decide to move, but then what happens after you've been with that company for 5 years, chances are you'll just be treated as an existing customer again.

I know lots of people who have been with Telecom for years and are very loyal and have never received anything for it, the same applies with Vodafone. Its just the way telecos in NZ and overseas seem to operate it. They are always interested in new customers, but never treat loyal customers all that well.

Where on the otherhand hospitality organisations strive to keep loyal customers. The main reason behind that is that it is cheaper to keep a loyal customer than to try and gain new ones. (I do have an article to back this claim, but I just cant remember where I put it) Tongue out

I think it's less "I'm switching because I didn't win $1000!", more "oh well, didn't win - which would have been about the only thing that would have kept me from switching".
