i was in wellington.

there were only between 3-6 people at the different locations but i didn't really have the time to stick around so i'm sure there were more either out looking or about to turn up.

the guys who won the last two in wgtn were close to the location when the clue was sent so it was a little bit of luck with who got it.

Yeah at Takapuna in Auckland there were probably about 8 people lurking at the obvious landmark near the map location.

Pricing just came out. Those who pre-registered got an additional $100 off.

The new "Smartphone" plans look exactly the same as iPhone plans...the only catch is:

I AM TOLD BY VODAFONE'S CALL CENTRE THAT UNLIKE THE iPhone PLANS, BESTMATE IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE ON THE SMARTPHONE PLANS!!!!!!!

So make sure you don't rush out and click "buy now" on Vodafone Online Store for a Magic without considering this point.

then theres also the problem of i'd probably buy a samsung when it's out if thats as good as the specs are and will there be any android phones available on telecom (if that does in fact have better/faster coverage).

Bestmate is available on the new Smart plans with the Magic. These are brand new plans and obviously they're not well understood yet by all call centre staff.   General rule is that if you can get it on the iPhone plans then you get it on the Smart plans.

... so make sure you do rush out and click "buy now"

don't like the hero hardware with the 'chin' and a little bit thicker than the magic (only got jeans pocket to keep it in) so ordered the Vodafone magic with the $100 off last night and just got confirmation it was picked up by courior post for delivery.

the hero has the nice interface and theres now a suggestion that HTC will allow loading in on other existing HTC hardware (the magic??) so it might be all good.
