ronindanbo: Saturn deployed the cable network WHICH Telstra Clear bought, not much meterage has been put on since. I agree the Auckland City Council has shut down the chance to put the network up there BUT how many other citys have they developed since buying the network? none.

Well actually, there is Telstra fibre running outside my works door, there is a telstra loop around blenheim.. whats it doing there? god knows.. its dark fibre as far as i know  (not to be confused with the link fibre network that connects motueka, richmond, nelson, blenheim, picton and awatere valley, thats a different kettle of fish altogether, also marlborough lines has fibre running around the city.. so yes we have three seperate fibre networks)

His point - and mine - is that you can't just accuse the company of "having a policy of not to build there (sic) own network but to leach off of others" because that's just not true.

We have TelstraClear cabling (I believe that it's fibre) running past my work in Whakatane. We're connected to it, so it's definitely there and working :)

Mauricio, will you be updating live from the event? I want to laugh (then cry) at the fail as soon as possible.

Nothing yet. Just drinks, chat and music. And cars. All with "Warspeed" over them.
