I'd love a good EVDO with bluetooth, and a cheap data plan.
It'd live in my handbag, and be accessed from the PDA and the headset, so the size, screen, mp3player is unimportant. I have some clients who want allow cameras in the building, so something without a camera would be an instant sale to me.

The v600i if it had a memory stick slot
or my k750i if it was 3g

When that comes along from SonyEricsson I'll buy.

Took a decent look at some mobiles today and had the use of one for all of today..

Video calling is really cool I have to say, I'm impressed. (free minutes not included)

MMS works really well at long last. it's now comparable to 027's slick fast sending (and non lightsurf receiving). and the phones finally have good (for a mobile) cameras.

but... NO PUSH TO TALK! I could not believe it! It seems forgotten! and they are locked up with DRM with all the music and videos. yewww... So I'm waiting off. $800 might be better spent for a holiday in Surfers! ahhhh

6680 let non drm'd mp3s set as tones
email connectivity and attachments is all good.. data speed is great
i'm doing the 3g thing right now from tawa. clear coverage.. around 250-295 kbps, browsing is simple though and comparable to 256k dsl.. pity home has patchy reception.
I drained the battery completely today but i spose that is heavy usage for you.

I'd go for the SonyEricssons at this stage.. less problematic... although the Motorola is pretty nice.. it supports landscape mode while watching clips :D

All Nokia (6630, 6680) supports landscape viewing in full screen mode as it is the feature of Realplayer. Just great.

speaking of problematic the working over the 6680 is getting has caused a couple of crashes and go slows. also sometimes realplayer just gives up the ghost.
Never is it more true that you should reboot your phone daily although if the symbian series 60 didnt take about a minute to turn off then on again i wouldnt mind

Interesting to hear this coming from a Symbian user. I have a MPx220 (WM Smartphone) on all the time, and usually reboot it once a week after installing a new software - sometimes not even this. In the movies I just change it to silent mode.

I make a point of always having a lot of memory free on its main memory and store everything on a miniSD card though.

So back to the topic - memory issues? The phone comes with a 32MB card, is everything (media, pictures) stored in the card by default?

Downloads give an option of where to store, the 6680 has 10mb on board and a 64mb rs-mmc card in the box. It came preloaded with documents handlers - pdf reader, document/spreadsheet/presentation readers which are all of great use. got approx 6mb free of onboard mem and not much on the stick but i loaded it up with some mp3s to head out of the house. Applications are on the mmc. I'm one of those people who i suppose you could describe as a keyboard freak and phones are the same, i know the order i need to press things so i do it and its typically met with a lag then an instantenous response and the 6680 seems to bite the dust occassionally.

I think SE recommended in tehir k750 documentation to reboot daily, most people leave their phones on perpetually and just have them on the charger etc (me included)

I just think between multi tasking on series 60 and using it heavily you have to be conscious that restarting the phone is beneficial.

I'm up to 2 crashes (self restart) and realplayer has just disappeared on me about 3 times while i'm listening to it.

I have recently bought a SE z800i mainly because I can play and save mp3's on my phone and use them as ringtones unlike the Vodafone branded v800/802, but I do not know how I can access 3G and its services. I love this phone and I must admit I was dubious about buying anything other than Nokia for a long time as I was so used to their handsets and menu systems, but I love this phone! Yes it was bought from a parallel import shop but then I dont think vodafone will bring out the z800i here from what I have read and heard, but who knows. Can anyone help me to get the settings I need to access 3G? Any help would be appreciated!!

check in the menu under networks and make sure the handset is not set to GSM only and of course make sure you are in a 3G coverage area. You should have to do nothing else! When you have 3G coverage a fully little blue icon will be beside the signal meter.

thanks John... I have had the logo on the screen as you mentioned since Tuesday and I knew it was for 3G so I guess thats all good, but would it be possible for me to access the content that vodafone is letting us have for free until 31st October?
