I actually did try a full reset, but that did not work. I further understand that these files are not deleted when a full reset is carried out.

A re-format fixes it. That sort of scares me.

Of course the easiest way to fix it would be for Sony Ericsson to confirm the time zone and daylight savings settings every time the Sync Station software runs.
