I didnt know I had! And that is not what I asked for anyway.
Hmm, "Bal remaining until 24/03: Monthly approx MBs:88"

I'm supposed to respect my elders, but it's getting harder and harder for me to find one now.

John, are you sure that data addons are partly credited back if cancelled part way through the month?

I know this is the case with plan minutes and other addons, but data addons are treated differently, ie you can't add data addons through the website like other addons, you have to call up and get this done.

Only reason I mention this is that when my free broadband for 3 months offer was about to expire, i received a text saying if i wanted to stop the service, to reply to the text before the 18th Jan. I replied on the 16th Jan and my billing cycle was on the 20th Jan. Only problem was, Vodafone didn't cancel the data addon until the next day AFTER my billing cycle, so i was charged for a full month of BB Lite and only had it on my account for 1 day, despite telling them to take it down beforehand.

The next invoice came the following month and no credit was given, even though my addon was cancelled 1 day into my billing cycle. I had to manually ask for a credit, which i was given.

The other reason that leads me to believe that data addons are treated differently to other addons is that when i've added broadband lite to other Vodafone accounts i manage, even though this is done half way through the billing cycle, the full 100mb of data is added to the account, however only a part month charge for the data is actually charged. With plan minutes or text, both the amount of calls/txt you receive and the amount charged will be prorated, not just the charge - this is another key difference between data addons and other addons (even though it seems to favour the customer more)

johnr: OP should have advised they were given 500meg of free data as good will that does not expire until used up

John

The above is incorrect, I was not given 500 mb of free data at all. Will see if the credit is passed in 18 days :-)

Well I am happy to be able to report that John was correct in that the 1Gb data was credited back this month, his statement about me receiving free data was however incorrect.

Cheers.

Only just saw this thread so am real late coming to the party but as John had already mentioned fairly early on, this functionality of proration has been built into the product so if you upgrade or downgrade, the cost will indeed be prorated. You should then see a credit followed by a debit amount on your invoice. Its probably a good thing that this is not left to the CSRs to calculate as it may take awhile, especially for someone with my maths skills to figure out the amount to credit back.
