I don't want or need an unlimited text plan. But being able to send xx number of texts to ANY network (not just Vodafone) would be great - even if it was only 100 or 200 texts a month. I barely use the 2000 VF-VF I have now.

I do believe VF currently has an on contract option of six hundred txts to any network. as a friend has just used up her 600 yesterday and is annoyed she has over a week still left...

which is kinda like the 500 telecom had for CDMA

personally I feel either 500 or 600 is waaay too little, that is only twenty a day

thank God for unlimited txting!

now if only BOTH networks will take this up I can stop having to carry around TWO phones just so my VF mates can contact me

I tried to change to the add-on you mention (which would be fine) under my You Choose plan, but apparently it's not permitted.

600 texts is too little? How many do you send each day, daman? :)

I send about 500 to 1000 on my XT per month, plus several hundred on my VF

not that many, as I know people who use up BOTH txt2000 on 2 VF sims

How about 200 free? @ 2d you topup $20 and get 200 FREE! I personally topup $50 and get 500 free... Plans who needs them? Although the new slingshot deal looks nice!

I make too many calls - a Prepaid plan wouldn't work for me. If 2d had some good on-account options, I might be tempted to take a look.

Vodafone have had the Text 600 to any network addon for OA customers for many years now.

It's priced at $12.95 per month, the same price as Telecoms unlimited any network text plan.

Many people i know can't switch network because of the reduced price for calling and txting friends on net.

You can get unlimited txts on Vodafone but only to selected people or in specific time periods with addons such as Bestmate, Family or Free Weekends.... all of which are on net of course.

What's the matter then? Move to XT and get unlimited text for $13.

If your sticking with Vodafone, then they obviously have done something right.

I'd suggest that this is how their structure works if it costs all of your friends to SMS you, you might be less inclined to switch networks!
Very clever I must say and especially they have got away with it for so long.

very true paradoxsm, but as I've said elsewhere on geekzone I expect one day a "tipping point" will arrive. Who knows exactly when, perhaps when 15% of your friends are on "another network" or maybe 35%? Whatever the number, when it happens we will see in a relatively short period of time a flood of people leaving VF as they all tumble over like dominos unless VF does something to stem it

Lol I think you overestimate the market power of low value prepaid customers. If they were concerned they would have done something by now.
