Credits to 2degrees for responding directly to me, even though i'm leaving their network. From all i have heard this is a VF problem and more of a priority issue when my ticket will be handled. So still waiting on VF to fix this, been 2 days and might take till Monday. Thats just taking too long of course. Not a happy VF customer. Mistakes do happen, but i would have been nice if VF would have picked this up more rapidly, isn't happening. In my opinion its more of a customer service issue than technical. Honestly, sorry, but i'm changing back to 2degrees the minute they have a good 3G bundle to offer.

Kudos to johnr for responding directly, appreciate that.

Just to add some balance, my 2degrees to Vodafone prepay port occurred today within 3 hours of buying the sim. So pretty good turn-around. Customer services at Vodafone is still a bit clunky, I suppose I would still prefer 2degrees, but they haven't delivered for data yet so Vodafone I am.

So this comment is not actually what happened then?

mcreal: I think this is probably a 2degrees problem...

I find it amazing how mobile operators do their business. It isn't a NZ problem though, i've had the same experience in NL. Its a game between the operators probably, trying to keep your customers and make porting numbers as difficult as possible....

Nope, good point. It was a VF issue.  Happy 2degrees kept my number working all the time, so i could receive calls.
