rossmnz: Lets hope the iPad is the herald of new low mobile data pricing from Vodafone.  Cant see it but lets hope.

Agreed. iPhone 3G was expected to do the same in 2008 and look how disappointing those plans were, and still are. The only way it'll be great pricing is if it's along the same lines as the iPad plans in Australia.

I'm thinking the TC 500MB prepay wouldn't be to bad:

10c per MB capped at $29.95 for up to 500MB in a calendar month. $29.95 price cap applies to your next 500MB too, then it's 10c per MB for anything over that.

I've already got a T-stick so i'll be trimming the sim when the day finally arrives!

As the 3G iPad runs on Telecom XT 850 and 2100 rather than Vodafones 900 why bother.

Buying a 3G travel wireless router rather than another 3G plan. I'm using up to 4gig on XT at the moment, can double to 8gig for under $30.

Don't forget the 20MB per item 3G download limit on iTunes for the iPad. No limit on WiFi.

Exactly.

That's why I have one of these: http://myzone.netcomm.com.au/

XT SIM inside connected to their 2GB plan for $49.95 a month, then whenever I'm away from home I can use my iPhone, iPad, and MacBook Pro and share the one connection. Works well for me.

There's already a few options.  My prefered option is to buy a WIFI only modle, jailbreak it and tether it to my iphone.  Especially with VFNZ offering 3gb a month (until recently).

Perhaps they will subsidize them with a 2 year contract or something.  I haven't brought one yet, I was waiting for the wifi options, so will be interesting to see what the announcement after the announcement is.
