This happens to me probably every other day, lately; I had 4 of my daily visited sites fail to load today, with both clearnet and paradise dns servers. Opened a ticket about it, out of curiousity (and frustration).
http://www.ashleighbrilliant.com/Potshot%20of%20the%20Day.html
http://freefall.purrsia.com/
http://www.gucomics.com/comic/
http://www.userfriendly.org/static/
(yes, it struck my daily webcomic viewing a dreadful blow)

And they're currently still inaccessible for me. One thing all the tracerts have in common, step 4:
3 12 ms 10 ms 11 ms lo0.internet.ivpn.pe22.telstraclear.net [218.101
.61.114]
4 * * * Request timed out.
5 35 ms 23 ms 23 ms ie1-g-0-0-0.telstraclear.net [203.98.50.1]

Everything else resolves fine (except the site, when i try visit it).

kiwired23, I could access all but one (freefall).

Edit: 16:02. The freefall site loads fine now.

I don't normally have any problems, this was the first time, it all seemed to start working again about 4pm for me.

I'm having issues with not being able to load some sites on and off too.
Yesterday I couldn't load wikipedia or yahoo, today some torrent site, when they do work they seem very slow.
Tried restarting everything and changing DNS but it doesn't seem to fix, very annoying.
I am on cable in Christchurch.

Right now I can't load my personal website, or any of my other websites on the same host

http://www.mrwild.co.nz

It was working earlier... and I know from www.alertra.com that it's definitely up. What is up with TelstraClear that they have such problems with intermittent service?

Two new sites for me atm:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/45740/
http://onefallinghope.com/2009/02/03/diy-speaker-stands

Seriously though, Steam?

Oh, and alertra is inaccessible as well.

Another data-point with cable in Wellington, I've found several sites that work with HTTPS, but not HTTP. My service started playing up sometime this afternoon. It's not DNS and I dunno about it being a routing issue either, unless the HTTP traffic is routed differently... which it may be... feels more like a proxy/filter issue...

A test site (for me, YMMV...) is http://www.bannination.com/404 vs https://www.bannination.com/404 ( please excuse the mis-named SSL cert though - secure.bannination.com ). Seeing the "daily viewing" comments above, I wonder if frequency of access plays any part...

I can get to all the sites mentioned in the previous two posts, right now. It could be though that when it was posted they were down and now the moving target of tracking what's broken on the TC network has moved on to other sites.

All of the sites that were inaccessible yesterday are now working for me. I've changed nothing at this end. Very strange.

I received an email from TC today saying they'd had an issue with part of their network, and for me to re-test and let them know if the problem's still occurring; so far, so good.

TC never bothered to update me, it just started working and they never followed up to check they fixed it.

I'm surprised at how many http related issues the group is having and yet others are unaffected.

Is there any patterns that anyone has noticed?

I use TelstraClear's internet access at the office and home.
I don't have any issues connecting to sites including the ones above.
